Astrid Latzel is a partner based in Kearney’s Berlin offices, where her primary speciality is private equity. She serves as managing director at Kearney and Head of Private Equity Central Europe

Working in private equity gives her the chance to create change at organizations and to flex her muscles in the area that first attracted her to Kearney: entrepreneurship. “What I love most about working at Kearney is the entrepreneurial freedom you have,” she says. “Once you have an idea, you will always be able to find people to join your team.”

She also values freedom and openness in her approach to solving problems. “There are always more ways to come to a solution. This is never only one best-fitting solution. There’s never only one way to conclude.”

Astrid says that her favorite types of clients are not the corporate giants whose brands anyone on the street can recognize, but rather midsize businesses that are challenging the status quo. “You really create an impact with the work that you’re doing,” she says. “It’s very target-oriented, and it’s high speed.”

And she especially loves supporting upstarts that aren’t necessarily favored to win, a perspective she says also applies to her passion outside of work: soccer. “I love seeing a team that is not that favorite win,” she says. “That is also true for my work.”
